C\u2019est la neuvi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e d\u2019affil\u00e9e que la chaleur stock\u00e9e par les oc\u00e9ans atteint un record, a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 Lijing Cheng, professeur \u00e0 l\u2019Institut de physique atmosph\u00e9rique (IAP) de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie chinoise des sciences (CAS) et auteur principal de cette analyse publi\u00e9e dans la revue Advances in Atmospheric Sciences par plus de 50 scientifiques du monde entier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La quantit\u00e9 totale de chaleur stock\u00e9e dans les 2.000 premiers m\u00e8tres des oc\u00e9ans a ainsi augment\u00e9 d\u2019environ 23 zettajoules en 2025, une quantit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e9quivalent \u00e0 \u00ab&nbsp;12 bombes atomiques d\u2019Hiroshima explosant chaque seconde de chaque jour de l\u2019ann\u00e9e&nbsp;\u00bb, a soulign\u00e9 M. Cheng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le r\u00e9chauffement des oc\u00e9ans contribue \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9vation du niveau de la mer par dilatation thermique, renforce les vagues de chaleur marines qui affaiblissent les coraux et aggrave les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames comme les pluies intenses ou les cyclones. Les oc\u00e9ans tropicaux, l\u2019Atlantique Sud, la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, le Nord de l\u2019oc\u00e9an Indien et l\u2019oc\u00e9an Austral figurent ainsi parmi les r\u00e9gions ayant absorb\u00e9 des quantit\u00e9s record de chaleur en 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le record de 2025 intervient alors que la temp\u00e9rature moyenne \u00e0 la surface des mers, plus sensible aux variations de court terme, a l\u00e9g\u00e8rement recul\u00e9, tout en restant la troisi\u00e8me valeur la plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e jamais mesur\u00e9e, due \u00e0 l\u2019apparition de conditions de type La Ni\u00f1a, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement associ\u00e9es \u00e0 un refroidissement temporaire de la surface des oc\u00e9ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toutefois, sur le long terme, le rythme de r\u00e9chauffement des oc\u00e9ans s\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e8re, en raison de l\u2019augmentation continue des concentrations de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre.
